Making Meaning strives to expose students to the varied ways in which people create communities and connect with something larger than themselves in our quest to make meaning of our lives. We will visit active faith communities and learn from practitioners about their beliefs and experiences. But we aren’t here to proselytize, and we won’t limit ourselves to traditional venues for seeking spiritual connection! We’ll also spend time exploring the natural world and how that can offer a deeply meaningful connection.
Each day will include discussion sessions and a chance for students to reflect on the questions they brought with them to W&L as well as what they learn together on the trip. Making Meaning’s signature experience is a trip to DC to visit various monuments and museums, capped off by a Washington National’s game! We’re coming to the trip with open minds and big questions, and we can’t wait to learn and connect with you!
