Robert Balentine ’79 and his wife, Betty, are recipients of the 2025 Cynthia Pratt Laughlin Medal from the Garden Club of America for their preservation work at the Southern Highlands Reserve.

The celebration, held April 4–5 on campus, brought students and alumni together to share experiences and make new connections.

As Andrew Barnett ’02 and his wife, Tori, contemplated how they could play a role in the lives of future ÄûÃÊÊÓÆµ students, they knew they wanted to make a gift that exemplified their values.

Charlie Tomm ’68, ‘75L was honored with the Outstanding Alumnus Award. Eone Beck ‘95L and Sarah Kathryn Stahling ‘15L were recognized for volunteer work.

The vice president at Firebird Artist Management was honored in the multisector category.

Distinguished Alumni Award 2025

This year’s honorees will be recognized during Alumni Weekend from May 1-4.

Alumni from the classes of 1975-2010 are invited to return to campus May 1-4 for a weekend of celebration and the presentation of the 25th and 50th reunion gifts.

Alex Burpee ’08, managing director at Moelis, leads a fireside chat on the energy M&A landscape with Eric Cantor and Stephen Trauber of Moelis & Co. during the W&L Energy Forum in Houston, Texas.

The newest addition to the university’s affinity-based career events brings alumni and industry leaders together to explore the future of energy.

The weekend event was commemorated with a ceremonial coin presentation with a coin designed by ROTC Cadet Carey Camp ’25.

The two-day program will be held on campus April 11-12.

The weekend’s seminar will feature Jayne Anne Phillips discussing her Pulitzer Prize-winning novel, “Night Watch.â€
